In the area where the Staufers reigned, the Straubinger and Schurr families have revived a historic Staufer fortress complex. The approach – climbing to the Staufeneck Burgrestaurant – makes it abundantly clear that this visit will lift you up from the ‘lowlands’ of the ordinary.
The restaurant with its overhanging terrace and stunnig views over the valley below is a well known spot for conoisseurs from far and near. The gourmet restaurant and the bistro have been renovated in 2012. Rolf Straubinger and his team prepare seasonal dishes and menus in a symbiosis of regional produce and spices from all over the world – interpreted in a modern style.
