Steinheuers Restaurant ‘Zur Alten Post’ is situated at the beginning of the Ahr valley – Germany’s largest coherent red wine growing area. Ranked as one of the world’s top restaurants it is run in the third generation by chef Hans Stefan Steinheuer and his wife, the enchanting head of service Gabriele Steinheuer.
Stefan Steinheuer is a master of flavours. Central to his cooking is an emotional attachment to the region, a feeling of belonging which he translates into dishes based on the best possible local produce. The Lounge with deep leather armchairs and an open fire is the perfect place for an aperitif or a digestiv. Lovely rooms with beautiful bathrooms, or three Junior suites also an ample penthouse invite guests to a thoroughly restful stay.
